The age of the competitor as of  August 31, 2009 will be the age used for competition purposes throughout the 2009-2010 season for all divisions.  EXCEPTION: The cut-off date for the maximum age of the Senior teams will remain May 31, 2009 for the 2009-2010 season only.

*Divisions marked with a * will be offered as "Small Gym" divisions at The U.S. Finals.A "Small Gym" is defined as having one physical address for its location and has 75 or less athletes registered in its competitive cheer program at the time of competition. Exhibition teams, crossover athletes and dance teams do not count toward the 75 or less athletes.

**The following skill restrictions apply fro L5 - Senior Open Cheer: In tumbling, only single twisting skills are allowed. During a full-twisting tumbling skill, no trick other than the twist is allowed (i.e. including but not limited to: split fulls, hitch kick fulls, X-fulls, full x-outs, etc.) and both feet must land and finish on the performing surface.

***This division will be split into Small (5-20 participants) and Large (21-36 participants) divisions if there are at least 2 teams competing in both the Small and Large divisions.  If after splitting divisions into Small and Large, more than 10 teams remain in the Small division; the division will be further split using the information provided below:
Small Tiny Division 1 Cheer = 5-9 Participants
Small Tiny Division 2 Cheer = 10-20 Participants

****This division will be split into Small (5-20 participants) and Large (21-36 participants) divisions if there are at least 2 teams competing in both the Small and Large divisions.  If after splitting divisions into Small and Large, more than 10 teams remain in the Small division; the division will be further split using the information provided below:
Small Mini Division 1 Cheer = 5-12 Participants
Small Mini Division 2 Cheer = 13-20 Participants

In an effort to maintain a competitive atmosphere, The U.S. Finals reserves the right to close, combine or open divisions at any time leading up to each event.

NOTE: Please be aware that the following rule was put in place by the USASF for the 2009-2010 season: “In 2010 Levels 5 and 6 may be offered at any of the 2010 “end of season, multi-brand events” with the following USASF restriction: A gym can not send a team to compete in the same division at The Cheerleading or Dance Worlds and a 2010 "end of season, multi brand event".
